A Simple Body Care Ritual I Enjoy Using

After publishing my post about my favourite glute exercises, I wanted to share another part of my routine that I enjoy using alongside movement, walking, hiking, and staying active.

This DIY cellulite spray is lightweight, refreshing, and takes only a few minutes to make. While no spray can magically remove cellulite, I enjoy using it as part of my overall body care routine. For me, consistency, movement, hydration, and self-care work together.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you may also enjoy my post about my favourite at-home glute exercises, which pairs perfectly with this body care recipe.

Why I Chose These Ingredients

Distilled Water

Creates a lightweight, refreshing base that feels comfortable on the skin.

Vegetable Glycerin

Adds a touch of moisture and helps prevent the spray from feeling drying.

Caffeine Powder

Caffeine is commonly used in body care products because it may temporarily help skin appear firmer and smoother.

Polysorbate 20

Allows the essential oils to disperse evenly throughout the spray.

Geogard ECT

Helps preserve the formula and keep it fresh.

Essential Oils Traditionally Used in Cellulite Blends

Cypress Essential Oil

Often used in body care products designed to support circulation and improve the appearance of uneven skin texture.

Juniper Berry Essential Oil

Traditionally included in massage oils and body treatments intended to support lymphatic flow and reduce the appearance of puffiness.

Grapefruit Essential Oil

One of the most popular essential oils found in cellulite-focused body care recipes. It is frequently used in toning and firming blends.

Sweet Fennel Essential Oil

Traditionally used in body contouring and cellulite massage blends because of its long history in supporting healthy circulation.

Helichrysum Essential Oil (Helichrysum italicum)

One of my favourite oils for this recipe. Helichrysum is commonly found in premium cellulite and body care formulations and is often used to support skin appearance and tone.

Black Pepper Essential Oil

Provides a warming sensation and is traditionally used in stimulating massage blends.

Ginger Essential Oil

Another warming oil frequently included in cellulite-focused massage products and body treatments.

DIY Cellulite Spray Recipe (100 ml)

Essential Oils

  • 10 drops Cypress
  • 8 drops Juniper Berry
  • 8 drops Grapefruit
  • 4 drops Sweet Fennel
  • 4 drops Helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum)
  • 2 drops Black Pepper
  • 2 drops Ginger

Directions

  1. Add the distilled water to a clean measuring cup.
  2. Stir in the caffeine powder until fully dissolved.
  3. Add the vegetable glycerin and mix well.
  4. In a separate container, combine the essential oils with the Polysorbate 20.
  5. Add the oil mixture to the water phase and stir thoroughly.
  6. Add Geogard ECT and mix again.
  7. Transfer the finished mixture to a clean 100 ml spray bottle.

Shake gently before each use.

How I Use It

I usually spray it onto my thighs, hips, and other areas after a shower or before a gentle massage. I often use it after walking, hiking, yoga, or my glute workouts.

For me, the ritual is just as important as the ingredients. Taking a few minutes each day for self-care helps me stay consistent with my overall wellness goals.

Optional Reiki and Crystal Infusion

If you enjoy working with Reiki or crystals, you can add a personal energetic touch to the finished spray.

After bottling the spray, I like to hold the bottle between my hands and send Reiki energy into the entire blend with the intention of self-care, confidence, and consistency. This is done once when the recipe is complete, allowing the energy to become part of the finished preparation.

You can also place the bottle beside a piece of rose quartz, clear quartz, or citrine while setting your intention.

This step is completely optional, but I enjoy including it as part of my personal wellness practice.

This recipe is intended for cosmetic use only. Always perform a patch test before using any new skincare or body care product.
